Friendship® Belgian Waffles with
warm fresh berry sauce
Directions:

Prepare waffles: Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl . Beat together the eggs, butter, and Friendship® Light Buttermilk. Combine with the dry ingredients. Do not over mix. Refrigerate the batter for 1 hour. Stir well, then cook waffles in a preheated waffle iron until done. Meanwhile, prepare sauce: In a saucepan, mix berries, sugar and ½ cup water. Simmer until the berries are very soft, about 10 minutes. In small bowl, whisk cornstarch with 2 cups water. Fold into the berries. Puree the berries, using a blender or mixer. Server with the waffles.

2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ tablespoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 tablespoon melted butter
1- ½ cups Friendship® Light

  Buttermilk

For the sauce:
4 pints seasonal fresh berries
½ cup sugar
2-½ cups water, divide usage
½ tablespoon cornstarch
